Kiosk Dedication at Touch the Sky Prairie




The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Brandenburg Prairie Foundation will unveil three new informational kiosks at the Touch the Sky Prairie Unit of the Northern Tallgrass Prairie National Wildlife Refuge on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 10am.  This event is free and open to the public.  The brief dedication ceremony will be highlighted by Jim Brandenburg who will talk about Touch the Sky Prairie, how prairie has been an integral part of his personal and professional life, and how that lead to the establishment of the Brandenburg Prairie Foundation.  Following the brief ceremony coffee and cookies will be available. and attendees will have a chance to explore the prairie with Jim and Judy Brandenburg, Foundation Board members and Fish and Wildlife Service staff.


To reach the dedication site from the city of Luverne, travel north on Highway 75 about 4.5 miles.  Turn left (or west) on 171st. St. and follow about 2 ¾ miles.  At the top of the hill is a parking area for visitors.
